Ray of This World

Yesterday it felt like everything would drown You counted every crack up on the ceiling But morning softly breathed the moon right down And wind whispers: "The choice is in your feeling" You were scared of losing your control Each step a tightrope walk without a net But look how light is brushing over your role You are the start of every good thing yet You will not lose — you're a ray of this world See? You woke up at 4 AM Look at your phone — summer's on the calendar You're missing nothing — no, not a thing, amen Everything's just starting, can you hear it? Light More than you thought last night, so bright Outside the window thrushes start to sing And you kept waiting for a sign, a clue, a meeting Just breathe — there is no fault in anything Even darkness can be just a candle's greeting Your fears are nothing but old video tapes Rewind — the remote is in your hand Time doesn't race like cheetahs in escapes It drifts in weightless steps across the land You will not lose — you're a ray of this world See? You woke up at 4 AM Look at your phone — summer's on the calendar You're missing nothing — no, not a thing, amen Everything's just starting, can you hear it? Light More than you thought last night, so bright Turn off the alarm, just make some tea Watch how the sun paints all the roofs with gold You're not too late — this is a reverie Where even whispers barely break the mold Not one second has been lost in vain Every moment — saved as warmth somewhere You are not a mistake, not some erased refrain You are why this earth still glows with care Outro (spoken or sung softly): So just breathe. Everything is just beginning.
